Dear Martin County Voter,

     I am a Republican candidate for the office of MARTIN COUNTY CLERK and I am seeking your support. My name is Bessie Morrison but, many of you may know me simply as “Mrs. Bessie” because this is the title I was given by the Head Start children whom I have been teaching in this County for almost 30 years. I started in 1980 working as a substitute for Head Start teachers, assistants, or any other position that I was needed for. When I wasn't substituting, I volunteered my time in the classroom. I got hired  full time in 1982 as an assistant and later moved into the teaching position where I still am today. I truly have enjoyed working with these children and their families, but I feel that it is time for a change not only for me, but also for our County. 

      I was born in Martin County and chose to spend my life working and raising my family here. I attended Prestonsburg Community College where I earned an Associate in Arts/High Distinction, and Morehead State University where I earned a Bachelor of University Studies Degree. This County is my home and I would like the opportunity to work to make it a better place for your family as well as for mine. As a Head Start teacher I see the many hardships that the families in our County are facing.

     I am honest, dedicated, and hard working, and was raised to treat people the way I would have them treat me. This county has trusted me with its most precious assets “Its Children” for almost 30 years. I am asking you to put the same trust in me for the office of County Clerk and I promise I will do everything in my power to do the best job possible as your County Clerk, and "YES I WILL FEED THE ELECTION OFFICERS DURING THEIR TRAININGS!"
