My Name is Jim Meade. Im a Canadidate for Magistrate in Martin Co Ky District 2.
Im running for Magistrate with the wishes of making Martin Co a better place to work and live.
My first action before the fiscal court as you magistrate. Will be a motion to end the B & O Tax. As the times we are facing are very tough and trying times. The last thing our Business and Employes need are more taxes. The things the employees and there employers need more money to survive on. Gary Hunt has had 4 yrs to repell this tax and has failed to do so or even make a motion on it.
My 2nd motion before the court will be to form a committee to submit a certificate of need for a Hospital here in Martin Co. I personally believe this will create good paying jobs, and also bring to our county a good tax base added to the existing ones we currently have. The one thing Gary Hunt has voted against 1 time voted no to extending the hours of the After Hours Clinic here in Inez and Abstaning from voting to extend the contract on the building they are now leaseing.
I think a hospital will be good for our county not just for jobs and taxes, but for the people. We have some very sick residents in Martin Co and some of them have to travel at least 1 hr to get to a hospital. Lets stop that. Lets bring a hospital here to Martin Co.
I want to be a full time magistrate working for our counties future and not take it back to the stone age. I want to roll my sleeves up and go to work for you. I promise to my district to always keep the intent of my district first. For its is the people of this district I will fight tirelessly for. I want to improve on what we have here in Martin Co. As a father I know first hand what its like to raise kids for I have 2 of my own. Im a family man and I want to do whats right for our County and District and help improve the quality of life for each of us and the future of our Children. Im not a yes man and I cant be bought. Im Jim Meade and Im running for Magistrate of District 2 in Martin Co.
