THE FOLLOWING HAS NOT BEEN EDITED BY TMW

Dear citizens of Inez,

I would like to take this time to tell you a little about myself. I am life long resident of Martin County. I grew up on old route 3 near Grassy Elementary School. I am the son of Kirl and Cathy Fitch who still reside on Joe Branch off old route 3. I am a 1999 graduate of Shelton Clark High School.  I am a proud member of the Inez Fire Department and in 2008 I received my certification from the Kentucky Community & Technical College System as a certified firefighter. I also serve as the public information officer for the fire department. In 2007 I was hired to oversee the new enhanced 911 system for the Martin County Fiscal Court and I was also appointed deputy emergency management direct by Judge Kelly Callaham. Being an active volunteer with many agencies and organizations within the community I feel that it is time for me to step up and run for Inez City Commissioner because much more is needing done within our community.

I joined the Inez Volunteer Fire Department to help my neighbors in time of need and if elected your new Inez City Commissioner I will try my hardest to see that the residents of the city are taken care of. One of my main priorities if elected commissioner is to implement a city-wide neighborhood watch system. If the citizens care as about the city as much as I do they will step up to be team leaders in the neighbor watch program. Since the city only has two city police officers its’ up to the citizens to keep an eye on our personal property and businesses. I will work hard with other commissioners to see that the city streets are properly taken of and I will work with the city clerk and mayor to see to keep a close eye on the city finances so they there will not be any overspending. I believe that city hall needs a complete renovation or relocation due to the current conditions of the building. NO LONGER SHOULD OUR CITIZENS OR CITY EMPLOYEES LIVE IN FEAR OF ENTERING CITY HALL DUE TO THE CRUMBLING ROOF TOP AND DEPILPATED BUILDING. Take the police tape down and start over..

The city has a rich history. If elected I try will to re-structure and reactivate the city tourism committee. The tourism committee is currently sitting on funds that could be used to host community fundraisers and events to raise money for much needed projects that could bring out the true beauty of Inez. Ideas are only as good as the paper they are written on. With the help of dedicated volunteers to lend a hand we can make a difference. The city of Inez currently does not budget ANY operating funds to the Inez Volunteer Fire Department for fire coverage nor to the Martin County Senior Citizens Center for daily operational expenses. If elected your new Inez City Commissioner I will meet with the Inez Fire Chief to discuss the steps needed to be re-classified so fire insurance premiums will lowered dramatically and I will work to see that the city financially supports their senior citizens center.
Thank you for your support,

K.C. Fitch
